Family Fun Day 2024 held April 20

4.30.24

The Montgomery County Early Childhood Coalition (MCECC) is doing a great job bringing awareness to the importance of high quality early education for our children. What a great turn out we had for the first-ever, Family Fun Day! Daniel Tiger, the featured character in the children’s television series, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, was a highlight of the day for the estimated 600 attendees. The event promoted the importance of literacy in the first five years of a child’s life and featured multiple story-time sessions thanks for the Crawfordsville District Public Library. About two dozen local organizations set up booths promoting the resources they provide to families with young children. Many had fun activities and give-a-ways. Penguin Random House provided free books for everyone. Crawfordsville Police and Fire Departments had vehicles on site the children could explore, along with a school bus, wrecker truck, and farm equipment. Crawfordsville High School was a gracious and accommodating host for the event. MCECC is a leadership initiative of Montgomery County Community Foundation.
