President McLaughlin announced that the winner of the 2014 Volunteer of the Year was Nancy Beach, pictured in the above photo with Dale Petrie and Steve McLaughlin. Nancy has been involved with Habitat since it formed locally in the 1980’s and has served in many roles. She is still on a mission to ensure that every person in Montgomery County has a decent home. Nancy was so honored to receive the award and was presented with a plaque, and Habitat for Humanity was awarded $1,000 in her honor. Nancy also presented a 2014 Appreciation Award to MCCF and the citizens of Montgomery County for their generous support of Habitat for Humanity, thus enabling the development of community spirit and home ownership that blesses both this generation and the ones to come.
Peggy Herzog and President McLaughlin then presented the 2014 Youth Volunteer of the Year award to Courtney Welliver. Courtney is a member of the Montgomery County Teen Court, is active in Youth As Resources, and is very helpful at recruiting new volunteers for the YSB.
