Description:
The Debra Kay Stonebraker Memorial Scholarship was established in 2017 to honor the memory of Debra Stonebraker, a lifelong Montgomery County resident. The Stonebraker Scholarship is awarded to a Montgomery County graduate who will be attending an accredited college or university. Applicants must have grown up in a single parent household and show a desire to pursue and achieve a college education.
Criteria:
- Be a graduate in good standing of a public Montgomery County, Indiana high school by the end of June of the year in which the application is filed
- Be a resident of Montgomery County, Indiana for the previous two years (military families excluded)
- Must have grown up in a single parent or guardian household (students with a deceased parent are also eligible)
- Be accepted into and attend an accredited two-or four-year public or private college or university
- Must have a grade point average of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale
- 21st Century Scholar award winners are NOT eligible for this scholarship
- Demonstrates academic preparation and potential for success in college
- Must have completed a minimum of seven (7) semesters or ten (10) trimesters by the application deadline to be eligible to apply for the Stonebraker Scholarship
