The family of Mike McCord has created a scholarship fund in his memory for students of Crawfordsville and North Montgomery High School. Mike lived life to the fullest and possessed a unique gift for loving others. Mike was always true to his character and values and did not compromise his beliefs for the sake of conformity. He had a strong faith in God and left a positive impression on all who knew him. Mike touched lives with his vibrant and enthusiastic spirit and this scholarship is a way to continue to honor Mike and promote his values.
The Mike McCord Scholarship Fund will provide a scholarship toward tuition and fees for a student from Crawfordsville or North Montgomery High School who is enrolled and will attend an accredited two-or four-year public or private institution. The scholarship will be awarded for one year only and is not renewable.
Criteria:
- Be a graduate in good standing from Crawfordsville or North Montgomery High School, Montgomery County, Indiana by the end of June of the year in which the application is filed
- Be a resident of Montgomery County, Indiana
- Be accepted into and attend an accredited two-or four-year public or private college or university
- 21st Century Scholar award winners are NOT eligible for this scholarship
- Must have a grade point average of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale
- Exhibits integrity, moral character and a positive attitude
- Demonstrates academic preparation and potential for success in college
- Must have completed a minimum of seven (7) semesters or ten (10) trimesters by the application deadline to be eligible to apply for the Mike McCord Scholarship

- In addition to the standard essay questions, be prepared to write an essay (300 word maximum) answering the questions: "Who do you look up to as a role model in your life and why?"
