During our recent Denim & Diamonds event, two Community Engagement Grant awards were presented by board members, Chris White and Anita Rupar.
Chris chose the Athens Art Gallery as the recipient of her $1,000 Engagement Grant and this award will help the art gallery with some remodeling, as well as continue in their efforts to promote local artists and showcase their talents. Chris welcomed the opportunity to further the Arts in our community and is impressed with the abundance of diverse talent found right here in Montgomery County.
Anita's $1,000 Engagement Grant went to the Carnegie Museum to help support three new programs. One program in particular, Title 9: Celebrating 40 Years for the Girls" will begin on November 17 at the museum. As a former tennis coach, this is a project that is close to Anita's heart since it focuses on local female athletes, past and present.
