Ron Melvin Scholarship

Ron Melvin
Requirements: Crawfordsville High School graduate or homeschool graduate from the Crawfordsville School district, financial need
Description:

Ron Melvin was a loyal graduate and friend of the Crawfordsville High School Class of 1984. During his school years, Ron had been active in baseball, basketball, tennis and football. As a young adult, Ron developed a fatal heart disease and needed a heart transplant at the age of 29. He faced this challenge with great strength of character and courage.

Ron worked to overcome his serious health challenge and continued in his goal to develop and maintain a career in the airline industry with Midway Airlines, Trans-Air and finally, Southwest Airlines. Many said his friendly, caring spirit and his zest for life encouraged them to be kinder, more thoughtful and enjoy each day of life.
